( there are two sheets hooked up to the ceiling, which--is where tim will find jason: chilling with his legs bent and ankles wrapped around fabric to keep him upright as he dicks around with the helmet in hand. his nose has very obviously been broken, even if he's already reset it once--albeit. a bit more crooked than one would really like, he's sure.

a leg swings out to loosen the sheets before untangling it entirely when he jumps down and lands on both feet. the mess of broken hood pieces is offered out to tim; some bits have been taped back on, others glued. it's a disaster. )

( yes please take his hood, he doesn't want to look at the sad broken bits anymore. this was fine when he had spares, but there are no spares in space. )

[Tim has no idea who Jason's talking about, but he's guessing that she's an Amazon... maybe a friend? maybe a sparring partner? Who knows. It seems like Jason and Tim's world just has more of... all of them than Tim's. More Robins, more heroes he's just never heard of.]

Like a giant squashed tomato that's been stepped on too many times.

( but he's used to it. no pain, no gain and all of that bullshit. it's the hood he's more concerned about anyway; bruises and cuts heal, broken bones will mend. his sad broken hood doesn't know how to self-heal. )

[He hands him the ice pack he'd picked up on the way here before turning his attention to the... very broken hood. It's going to be kind of like a puzzle, trying to put the thing back together. It's fine, and he does actually have the patience for that kind of thing, no matter what he pretends when other people are around, but... damn.]

I guess that's what a helmet is for. To take the brunt of the face trauma. Do you have glue at least?

( at least it's not jason's face. as bruised as it is, he only broke his nose, no cracks in his skull. it's the small things that count. he takes the ice pack with a quiet, murmured "thanks", presses it to the side of his face that's bruised up the worst and sits himself down on the floor close by. )

Duct tape. No glue.

I think I can get it all together again, but it's not really going to be structurally sound unless I can get something to make the seams strong. No more super-punches to the head.

's fine. It hasn't needed to take punches in a while, it'll last 'til I can get it fixed up better.

( definitely shouldn't be taking superpunches to the face regardless of whether or not the mask is there to absorb it anyway. )

[He doesn't know you all that well yet, Jason, but he has a feeling that you and conflict are intimately acquainted, and having a helmet to protect your thick skull might be slightly more necessary than you think it is.

He sits down on the floor and starts peeling away tape so he can get a better look at the pieces.]

( the pieces are all there; he's not missing any bits. a lot of them are scratched, dented, but. that's what happens when you take a suit built out of weird as shit meteor metal to the face. )

Next planet, we'll pick up better shit for it.

[Better shit? How about a new helmet. But who knows. Maybe Jason's sentimental about this one. He starts carefully piecing them together and using the tape to hold them into place.]

Had a ton of them back home. Sadly, space doesn't make it nearly as easy to get 'em.

( not sentimental about that exact hood, but the design of it and he has yet to find someone to replicate it on planet. jason reaches back behind him, grabs onto a smaller role of tape, a few pieces of wire, pliers. .

you know, shit tim could use. all of it pulled out from god knows where, and leaves it on the floor beside them. )

Yeah, space is pretty light on stuff like actual useful gear.

[No Robin stuff. No batarangs or any of the cool stuff from home. Not that he's annoyed about that or anything. He starts making use of the additional stuff Jason had set out. This is not going to be pretty, but hopefully he can at least make it semi-functional.]
