Tim put his toothbrush in the cup on the sink next to Dick’s, frowning slightly. It was hard not to think of this as just another weekend in Blüdhaven. He had to keep reminding himself that he wouldn’t be going back to Gotham on Sunday night or Monday morning.

Or ever again, if he didn’t want to.

Dick brought the last of Tim’s boxes into his bedroom and set it down with the others. He eyed them, frowning a little. His apartment wasn’t nearly as big as the Manor, and Tim’s room was a lot smaller than his old one. Everything was going to fit, it was just going to be more crowded than Tim was used to, and he really hoped that wasn’t going to be a problem. He could always look for a bigger place, if it came to that. He left the room and went to lean against the door to the bathroom. "Well. That's everything."

Tim looked at him, blinking, and held up his empty bathroom kit. “I unpacked my bathroom stuff.” He wrinkled his nose a little. “How does the bedroom look? Is there any floor left?”

“Awesome.” Dick grinned and shrugged a shoulder. “The floor’s still there… I think. I’m pretty sure you can at least get to the bed. Hungry?”

He nodded, letting the arm holding the shower kit fall to his side. “Food sounds good. Unpacking is hard work. You don’t know how heavy a toothbrush is.”

Dick nodded in agreement, smirking slightly. It felt really good to hear Tim joking around, especially after today, with the move and all the changes that came with it. “It’s true. Heavy toothbrushes are best. Good oral hygiene is nothing to mess around with,” he said sagely. “So—pizza, pasta or burgers? …Or, uh. Anything else you want!”

“I think pizza would be best,” Tim replied solemnly. “Alfred warned me about your cooking.”

Dick sputtered indignantly, putting his hands on his hips. “I will have you know that my cooking is… edible!”

Tim eyed him. “Hm. I guess we’ll see. Lucky for you, I’m not too picky.” He shrugged a little. “Pizza would still be good though. Moving’s a lot of trouble.” …That he’d already put Dick through. He didn’t want him to have to cook, too.

Dick scoffed dismissively, waving a hand. “Hey, it’s no trouble for me. I just carried the boxes. You get to unpack. That’s the hard part.” He turned to heard toward the kitchen, waiting for Tim to come with him. “What kind of pizza?”

“I’m up for whatever. Maybe meat lover’s? I should probably keep my strength up for the unpacking part.”

Dick nodded seriously, digging through a pile of take-out menus when they reached the kitchen. “Protein! You’ll need it.” He found the menu he’d been looking for and grabbed the phone, calling in the order. When he finished (adding an order of cheese breadsticks impulsively), he turned back to Tim and held up two fingers. “Two questions. Did you want help with the unpacking? Because I don’t mind. And did you want to start in now while we wait for the pizza, or did you want a movie and food break first?”

“I have a lot of stuff—you don’t have to help. But…” he shrugged slightly. “I wouldn’t mind taking a break before I get started.”

“I know I don’t have to,” Dick replied, shrugging. “But unless you’d rather do it on your own, I’d like to help. But you can think about it while we watch the movie and eat. Any movie requests?”

“Martial arts film?” he asked hopefully.

“Absolutely!” He grinned at Tim and fought the urge to throw an arm around him, gesturing for him to follow instead. “Let’s go pick something out and wait for that pizza.”

Tim nodded and followed, already trying to decide which movie he wanted to watch before starting to unpack his things. He knew that Dick didn’t mind helping, but it was just… something he wanted to do for himself. “What do you think about Hero?”

“I think it’s perfect,” he said, shooting Tim a bright grin. When they reached the living room, he found the movie and put it in the player. Settling on one end of the couch, he glanced at Tim and said, “I’m really glad you’re here, you know.”

Tim glanced over at him as he took his own seat—closer to Dick than to the other end of the couch. “Yeah?”

“Yeah,” he said with a smile. “It’s really nice to have my brother around.”

He settled back against the couch, making himself more comfortable as the movie started. “It’s pretty nice being around.”
