notafraidofyouTim tips his head back, closing his eyes and breathing in the fresh air. "Bruce said I should come by today. I told him that you and me weren't really much for holidays, but he seemed to think it was important. I dunno. Anyway, I came."
He scuffs his sneaker in the grass. "I don't really know what I'm supposed to say. I'm living with Bruce Wayne now. He's pretty cool. He's Batman, and I get to be Robin. I guess you probably don't like that, but I feel like I'm doing something good. Plus--" he laughs a little. "I'm learning how to kick some serious ass. Next time, Puke-Face--" His voice cuts off and he scuffs his toe against the ground again, frowning at it.
"He came looking. After. He wanted what you took, and he got the key off me. He was gonna kill me, but Batman was there. He stopped him, and then took me back with him. It's a cave, Dad. Underneath his house. It's definitely the coolest place in the world, even if I usually have to work really hard when I'm down there.
"Anyway, you probably don't really care a lot about this stuff. I saw some of the guys you used to run with. They're pretty much doing the same things they were always doing. Not really a surprise, huh? I had to bring a few of them in. I'm sorry."
There's a long silence, and Tim shoves his hands further into his pockets. "I'm gonna get going. Alfred's back, and it's not like anyone's trying to rush me or anything, but... we never really talked a lot. Argued, maybe, but not talked. I dunno. I guess I can try to come by more. Let you know how things are going. You're probably not really proud of me, but... I'm kinda hoping you don't mind hearing about it anyway.
"So... Talk to you later, Dad. Happy Father's Day."
